Towel Rails - Electric towel rails more practical04/02/2008 Electric towel rails are a more practical choice than ones which run from a central heating system, according to an interior designer. Writing in the Western Mail, Yvonne Jones said that some of the latest generation of towel rails are powerful enough to heat a bathroom by themselves, so there is no need to clutter up the room by adding radiators. Anyone concerned that a towel rail alone will not provide sufficient heat for their bathroom could consider installing an underfloor heating system instead of a radiator in order to avoid damaging the look of the room, she continued. Whether a homeowner goes for a towel rail alone or decides to supplement it, Ms Jones urged them to remember one thing when choosing the rail itself. "Beware, if your towel rail runs from your heating system, as you'll be left with soggy towels in summertime - so go for an electric one that you can switch on and off at will," she suggested. Dimplex recently launched a new range of dry element technology towel rails which it claims will reach 60 degrees Celsius in only 15 minutes. ![]() |
