Brushed bronze runs darker and browner than brass, closer to an old penny than to gold, and it gives this square-bodied mono mixer real weight of colour. The shape underneath is the same restrained one: a 160mm block column, a flat blade spout with a 110mm reach, and one wide lever across the top. Bronze earns its keep in bathrooms with warm neutrals, terracotta tiling or walnut furniture, where chrome would feel too cold.

Solid brass under the finish, with a matching press-top waste supplied in the box.
