Sitting on a pedestal basin or an inset bowl in a vanity unit, this chrome mono mixer clears the rim by a comfortable margin: 224mm to the top of the arc, with the outlet 140mm forward of the base, so washing your hands does not mean catching your knuckles on the tap. One tap hole is all it asks for. The two crosshead handles hold on to a hint of traditional shape while the plain round column underneath keeps the tap firmly modern.

Matt black and brushed brass versions of the same tap are made if chrome feels too cool for your scheme.
